Role purpose
Equimundo is hiring a Vice President of Development and Partnerships, to strategically grow and lead its fundraising and communications. The Vice President joins Equimundo’s dynamic staff and will play a critical leadership role in expanding Equimundo’s fundraising, partnership development, and communications and advocacy in the US and globally.
This position will create and implement a strong business development plan over the next three years, identifying appropriate fundraising and strategic partnerships, and supporting the President & CEO and other staff leadership in fundraising planning and building partnerships.
The Vice President of Development and Partnerships is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive communication strategies that align with Equimundo's goals and objectives. This position oversees all internal and external communications, public relations, media relations, branding, and marketing initiatives.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Strategic planning
- Donor prospecting and stewardship.
- Representing Equimundo in fundraising spaces.
- Grant, major gift, and individual giving programs.
- Shape and lead Equimundo’s US and global advocacy.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of Equimundo’s brand identity and messaging.
- Advise leadership on communication trends, issues, and strategies.
- Manage and mentor the Business Development and Communications teams, providing guidance and support for professional development.
- Foster a collaborative environment that encourages creativity and innovation.
Profile
- Organizational leadership and high-level strategy.
- Strong proposal development and writing.
- Exceptional cross-team coordination.
- Institutional fundraising (corporations and foundations).
- Experience with major gifts and high-net-worth individuals.
- Understanding of the current nonprofit fundraising landscape and trends.
- Policy and issue advocacy.
- Affinity and experience in gender equality, social justice and/or work with men and boys, and healthy masculinity.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a related field or a bachelor’s degree and equivalent work experience.
- 7-10 years supervising fundraising efforts, including successful funding partnerships with a diverse set of actors.
- Experience leading a communications department or communications and advocacy work.

Terms of Appointment
The position is full-time, with a competitive salary and compensation package.
Role Location
The position would ideally be based in Washington, DC, but could also be based in another major city (New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco Bay Area or Chicago) where Equimundo seeks to build contacts and presence.
