Global Director, Ethics and Compliance

Fairtrade International Bonn, Germany

About Fairtrade International

Fairtrade is the world’s leading ethical label that exists to empower farmers and workers around the globe via some 1,700 producer organisations representing over 1.7 million farmers and workers.  The Fairtrade system encompasses more than 2,000 partnering companies while increasing social and environmental value for more than 35,000 products.
Fairtrade is an alternative approach to conventional trade and is based on a partnership between producers and consumers. Fairtrade offers producers a better deal and improved terms of trade. This allows producers the opportunity to improve their lives and plan for their future. Furthermore, Fairtrade offers consumers a powerful way to reduce poverty through their everyday shopping.
Fairtrade International is the international non-profit, multi stakeholder body that is responsible for the strategic direction of Fairtrade, sets Fairtrade standards, and supports producers. Fairtrade International incorporates 3 type of members: National Fairtrade Organisations (developing sales and consumption markets), Producers Network (developing sourcing) and FLO-Cert (independent assurance and audits).
