Role purpose

Delivering the People & Organization Ambition

The P&O Ambition 2023-2028 aims to enable the Global Fund Mission & Strategy and deliver impact for the communities we serve, by building an effective organization, fostering belonging and well-being, and developing our people to perform at their full potential.

 

It balances aspirations with realism, adopts a ‘less is more’ mindset to focus on adding the most value. With a systematic and people-centric approach, it aims to improve HR basics while aligning strategic People initiatives in a comprehensive framework.

 

Why is this role important in delivering the P&O Ambition?

This position will play a crucial role in facilitating key pillars of the Ambition, around Compensation & Benefits, Employee Relations, HR Policies & Procedures, making a difference for 1000+ colleagues from 100+ nationalities across many professional backgrounds.

 

This role reports to the CHRO, is part of the HR Management Team, and manages a team of one Lead and two Specialists.

 

The HR Department consists of 5 teams

HR Business Partnering; HR Operational Services; HR Strategy Delivery and PMO; HR Expertise – Rewards, Staff Relations; HR Expertise – Culture, Talent& Development.

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities 

The Manager, Rewards and Staff Relations has the responsibility to:

  • Oversee the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of processes tied to Compensation & Benefits, Employee Relations, HR Policies & Procedures. This role extends to shaping organizational design and initiatives.
  • Shape and implement the Global Fund People and Organization (P&O) Ambition through areas of expertise along with the HR Management team. This role is instrumental in elevating the organization and its people.
  • Design key activities within areas of expertise, overseeing day-to-day operations, decisions, ad- hoc requests and projects with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Step into a leadership role within the HR Department, providing crucial support to the Chief Human Resource Officer.
  • Actively mentor and coach fellow department members, showcasing strategic thinking in issue anticipation, mitigation, and resolution.
  • Lead in providing expert guidance and advice, recommending solutions for complex Employee Relations and HR policy matters. Collaborate closely with stakeholders, contributing to the organization's overall success.

 

Profile

We are looking for a thought leader with a hands-on approach and a strong passion for the Global Fund's mission and values.

 

Experience:

A minimum of 10 years of experience in at least three areas of HR expertise: Reward & Benefits, Employee Relations, and Organizational design & effectiveness.

 

Demonstrated ability to:

  • Lead inclusive teams. Excellent capabilities demonstrated through engaging and delivering with diverse (global) teams.
  • Think strategically. Strong organizational acumen. See ahead, anticipate future challenges, integrate and translate potential into reality.
  • People-centric design. Turns insights into pragmatic solutions that are desirable, feasible and viable.
  • Manage change. Successfully implement projects and processes at an organizational level through effective change management; focused on people experience and proven results on improving business performance through managing people.

 

Skills & Education:

  • Academic background at Master’s or Doctoral level in Human Resources Management, Organizational Development, Organizational Behavior, or related disciplines, with at least 10 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of the English language.

 

Terms of Appointment
