As part of the transformational changes towards One CGIAR, we are now implementing a new operational structure that aims to create a more integrated CGIAR; align operational structure to the 2030 Research and Innovation Strategy; enable greater collaboration across functions, disciplines, and geographies; and further strengthen the diversity of people, skills and ideas. CGIAR has approximately 10,000 staff deployed in more than 80 countries.

In this context, One CGIAR is searching for two outstanding Global Directors as part of their Global Engagement and Innovation Division: 1) Global Director of Innovative Finance and Resource Mobilization; 2) Global Director of Communications and Outreach.

They also seek two Regional Directors to serve as representatives of One CGIAR across specific regions: 3) Regional Director of Latin America and the Caribbean, and 4) Regional Director of South Asia.

These leading roles provide an exciting opportunity to be part of One CGIAR’s passionate, world-class team of leaders and to make a significant contribution to the transformational change CGIAR is undergoing to integrate its global operations, double its funding, and have a much greater impact in addressing some of the most pressing global challenges.

1. Global Director of Innovative Finance and Resource Mobilization

The Global Director of Innovative Finance and Resource Mobilization will play a critical role in shaping and implementing our Resource Mobilization, Communications and Advocacy Strategy to build on and diversify funding mechanisms. They will provide the strategic vision to promote different thinking and new ways of working with partners and funders. A key emphasis will also be on developing new partnerships to extend the reach and impact that One CGIAR can make.

2. Global Director of Communications and Outreach

The Global Director of Communications and Outreach will be the owner of One CGIAR’s brand, visual identity and increase its recognizability and reach to a wide range of audiences. They will position One CGIAR as a major player in global innovations for food, land and water transformation with an integrated wealth of scientific research disciplines. The Global Director of Communications and Outreach will take responsibility for communications across One CGIAR. This will include building and heading a global group that affiliates existing communications and outreach professionals across CGIAR to the new structure.

3. Regional Director of Latin America and the Caribbean

The Regional Director of Latin America and the Caribbean will be the lead representative of One CGIAR across the region, guiding the dialogue to develop and implement regional strategies that engage and connect partners with the full scope of One CGIAR’s work. Stakeholder engagement will be key to this role to build relationships with and engage stakeholders to establish One CGIAR as a trusted partner and advisor to governments, field-based partners and regional scientific and political bodies. This role reports directly to the Managing Director of Global Engagement and Innovation.
